HARVEY by Mary Chase

Thursday, November 6 through Saturday, November 8
Eastridge High School Black Box Theatre
Tickets are available at the door
$7 for Adults, $5 for Students/Faculty/Children

The School of Performing Arts at Eastridge will present its first production of the 2014-15 school year, “HARVEY” by Mary Chase, at 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 6, Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8, in the Eastridge High School Black Box Theatre, 2350 East Ridge Road. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students, faculty and children. Tickets are available at the door. Proceeds go to the Performing Arts program.
“HARVEY” is the story of Elwood P. Dowd as he starts to introduce his imaginary friend, Harvey, a six-and-a-half-foot rabbit, to guests at a society party. His sister Veta has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can tolerate and decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her daughter, Myrtle Mae, and their family from future embarrassment. Problems arise, however, when Veta herself is mistakenly assumed to be on the verge of lunacy and committed instead. The play features seniors Colby Dayton, Lauren Hartley, and Rebecca Finein, with a supporting cast of nine additional actors grades 9-12.

TIES (Together Including Every Student)
www.TIESProgram.org
Do you have a child with special needs (grade 3 and up) who would like to participate in extra-curricular or community activities?
TIES (Together Including Every Student) is a program which promotes the participation of children/young adults with disabilities in extracurricular and community activities by providing effective support. This support is provided by trained student volunteers in grades 8-12 in the East Irondequoit Central School District.
Through this training, students learn valuable information about the importance of belonging, disability awareness, friendship building, and effective support strategies. Participants are paired with volunteers based on similar interests and desired abilities. The volunteer attends the activity with the participant and provides support with physical, social and/or language needs.

Participants and volunteers join a wide variety of activities, such as trips through Irondequoit Parks and Recreation, arts and crafts classes, sports programs, swimming, after-school activities, etc.
If you are interested in your child participating or have questions about TIES, please contact Laura Colombo at 288-0794 or lauracolombo817@gmail.com.
