TIES (Together Including Every Student)
Do you have a child with special needs (grade 3 and up) who would like to participate in extra-curricular or community activities?
TIES (Together Including Every Student) is a program which promotes the participation of children/young adults with disabilities in extracurricular and community activities by providing effective support. This support is provided by trained student volunteers in grades 8-12 in the East Irondequoit Central School District.
Through this training, students learn valuable information about the importance of belonging, disability awareness, friendship building, and effective support strategies. Participants are paired with volunteers based on similar interests and desired abilities. The volunteer attends the activity with the participant and provides support with physical, social and/or language needs.

Participants and volunteers join a wide variety of activities, such as trips through Irondequoit Parks and Recreation, arts and crafts classes, sports programs, swimming, after-school activities, etc.
If you are interested in your child participating or have questions about TIES, please contact Laura Colombo at 288-0794 or lauracolombo817@gmail.com.

East Irondequoit Parent-Teacher Associations
enrich our children's school lives by sponsoring
special musical, cultural, reading and other enrichment
events. All East Irondequoit PTAs are sponsoring membership
drives this fall. Join your school PTA -- support
these efforts for your children and for all children.

Parents of East Irondequoit preschool-age children are urged to register children with the preschool census.
This applies to all students, including those who plan to attend private or parochial schools.
East Irondequoit transports all students who live within 15 miles of the private or parochial schools they attend.
For more information, contact the district office at 339-1251 or 339-1213.
