100 kids in East Irondequoit will be getting new shoes thanks to a generous donation from Reliant Community Federal Credit Union and Fleet Feet Sports.
The two organizations decided in order to help kids get active that they would need the right equipment and that all starts with a good pair of shoes.
"We know the importance of developing the whole child-academically, emotionally and physically," said District Superintendent Susan Allen. "With todayís increasingly sedentary lifestyles, especially among young people, itís crucial that we help them find a balance that will provide them a foundation for a lifetime of smart choices."
The shoes will be distributed to the four elementary schools in the district.
