What is the IB Diploma Program?

 

The IB Diploma Program is designed as an academically challenging and balanced program of education with final examinations that prepares students for success at college and life beyond. The program is normally taught over two years and has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.  Students may enroll in the full IB diploma program or take individual IB courses which earn them IB certificates. 

 

IB Statistics

  • There are 3 challenging IB programs:  the Primary Year Program, the Middle Years Program and the Diploma Program.
  • The International Baccalaureate Program has been in existence since 1968.
  • There are 2,300 IB World Schools across the globe in 140 countries.
  • There are 50,000 IB-certified teachers and 500,000 students aged from 3 to 19 years old enrolled in these programs.
 

Eastridge Statistics 

  • Eastridge High School has been authorized to offer the IB program since 2007 with its first examinations taking place in 2009.
  • We continue to grow the number of students taking IB Certificate courses (112 for the Class of 2015).
  • Rate of passing (awarded the IB Diploma) for the Class of 2013:  90%!
