What is the IB Diploma Program?

 

The IB Diploma Program is designed as an academically challenging and balanced program of education with final examinations that prepares students for success at college and life beyond. The program is taught over two years and has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.  Students may enroll in the full IB diploma program or take individual IB courses which may earn them certificates. 

 

IB Statistics

  • There are 4 IB programs:  the Primary Years Program, the Middle Years Program, the Diploma Program and the Career Program.  East Irondequoit is proud to offer all four programs.
  • The International Baccalaureate Program has been in existence since 1968.
  • There are 2,400 IB World Schools across the globe in 140 countries.
  • There are 50,000 IB-certified teachers and 1,000,000 students aged from 3 to 19 years old enrolled in these programs.
