A Message from Mr. Daniels
Dear Helendale Lancer Families and Friends
I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxing, recharging and thinking about getting ready to start a new school year in September. I am so delighted that you are going to be a part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your children.
All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our enthusiastic office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard working and conscientious custodians are thoroughly cleaning our school. And, our much-appreciated PTA is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning.
We are proud of the work we have done and will continue to do to help all of our students be prepared to grow and learn every day. Through Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Student Mentoring, Mindfulness, Classroom Meetings, Community Circles and the teaching of Second Steps Towards Violence Prevention, we firmly believe that students can and will grow academically if their social and emotional needs are met first. Our students need to feel welcome, safe and cared about at school.
In the book, “How to Create a Culture of Achievement in Your School and Classroom” by Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, and Ian Pumpian ask this question:
“Can our school be so welcoming, so inviting, and so comfortable that every person who walks through our doors believe that they are about to have an amazing experience?”
I sincerely hope and believe that our Helendale families will have amazing experiences when you visit our school. I want your child(ren) to love coming to school each and every day. Enjoy the rest of summer. I can’t wait to see our students in September!
