• A message from Superintendent Mary Grow

    Dear Lancer Families,

In recent weeks we have seen an increase in the number of acts of criminal violence and hate towards people of Asian descent.  Last week’s shooting in Atlanta, along with the reports of the rise of violent acts towards the Asian, Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities, reminds all of us of the work we must continue to do to create a safe and caring world that is inclusive of all.  In East Irondequoit we celebrate our diversity; we are a school community where more than thirty languages are spoken, and many ethnicities are represented.

We recognize the hurt and fear that these violent acts leave on our students, families and community, and we stand with our families of Asian descent to condemn hate and violence. If your student(s) need any additional support to process any of these national events, please reach out to our building leadership, school counselors or me.  Our mission as a school district is to create safe and caring learning environments for all.
