    A Message From Mr. Roach

    Dear DE Families,

Let me start by saying how proud I am of everyone in the DE community!  Our staff has been nothing short of amazing with their love of kids and their flexibility to some challenging times.  A special shout out to our remote teachers for all their hard work connecting to kids.  Your students have been amazing, as well.  They are doing everything we have asked and do not seem phased in the least.  Finally, a huge thank you to all of you for your flexibility with routines and the trust you place in us!  This has truly been a team effort.

    Important Dates and Reminders:

Monday, September 28th, 2020 is our first PTA meeting.  See below for the Zoom link.

Friday, October 9th, 2020 we will hold our district's emergency drill for sheltering in place and early dismissal.  All students will be released 15 minutes earlier than normal via their regular modes of dismissal.  So please plan on picking up or getting your students off the bus 15 minutes earlier than normal.

School Pictures: School Pictures will be October 16th for all in- person students during the day.  Also on October 16th, remote students can come between 3:30-4:30 PM for a session with the Clix photographers in the building (please use the door by the flagpole), or make an appointment to have them taken at the Clix studio.  Schedule an appointment at Clix through their website HERE.

No vehicles should be in the front bus loop from 2PM until 3PM

Also, please do not forget to do the daily screening at home prior to school!

    Student Pick-up Procedures Review

If you need to pick up your student after school, please follow these guidelines.

We have this down to an art form now thanks to your help!

    1. Please do not get out of your vehicle to wait at the back door of the gym.  The whole reason we changed procedures this year was to avoid any social distancing issues.  When folks crowd the door we can not maintain appropriate social distancing.
    2. I am asking that you start your pick up process by going down Dayne Street to Aragon Ave and up Baymouth to the entrance to the parking   Here is a photo of what that would look like highlighted in  yellow.  The first vehicle will stop at the parking lot entrance with  other vehicles behind.  Cars will not be allowed in until buses have  cleared.
    3. Once cars are let in, my staff members will approach your car with a clipboard and ask for ID to have you sign out your students.   They will  radio in to the Gym to have your student sent out.  IF we all follow  the same routine this should be a quick process.  Again, I can not have  folks gathered out of their cars at the doors.

Important:  No Cars should be in the front bus loop between 2 and 3 PM

If you have any questions please let me know.
