The East Irondequoit Central School District is pleased to announce that Mary E. Grow has been named superintendent.
Ms. Grow was approved by the Board of Education at a special meeting on June 24th. She has been serving in the position of interim superintendent since January 1st when former Superintendent Susan Allen retired.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to continue working with a district that means so much to me,” said Ms. Grow. “I want to thank the school board for the confidence they have shown in me and am looking forward to being a part of all the great things our staff and students will accomplish in the upcoming years.”
Ms. Grow began her career in the district in 2002 as a social studies teacher at Eastridge High School.
After five years in that position, she moved into the role of assistant principal for a year before taking
over as principal. After serving as principal from 2008‐2014, she moved to Central Office as the Director of Secondary Education before being promoted to Assistant Superintendent for Instruction.
“We are thrilled that Mary has agreed to continue to lead the district,” said Board of Education President Kim Lasher. “Her passion for our students, staff and community shows in everything she does and we are confident that she is the ideal person for this position.”
