Changes to District Outdoor Masking Policy

Good Afternoon Lancer Families,

Today at Governor Cuomo’s press conference he made it clear that there is no change to the mask mandate, indoors,  for all New York State Schools.  He did acknowledge that based on the CDC recommendations, masks are not necessary for students while outside at the discretion of the local school district(s).  Effective upon receipt of the Governor’s Executive order implementing the State change in mask mandate, East Irondequoit CSD will no longer require masks for students, staff, or visitors while outside.

Based on the governor’s remarks today, I do not anticipate any further changes this school year to existing mask mandates or any other mitigation efforts currently in place.
