Eastridge graduate Steve Gadd (63) has been recognized for decades as one of the top drummers in the world. He's played with some of the top performers in the history of modern music, including Eric Clapton, Steely Dan, James Taylor and Paul Simon. At the 61st Grammy Awards on February 10 the 74 year old added another amazing achievement to his career when he claimed his first Grammy.
The Steve Gadd Band's self-titled album took top honors in the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album category. He was also nominated in 2016 for an album recorded at a concert here in Rochester.
Gadd, who is a member of the Rochester Music Hall of Fame, will be back in town on June 21 when he headlines the Rochester International Jazz Show.
