The East Irondequoit Central School District is excited to announce that Chad Green, long-time Eastridge Varsity Football Coach, will resume the duties of head coach after a seven-year hiatus.
"I look forward to returning to coaching and leading our BLEED BLUE NATION, instilling the pride, commitment, and the traditions of Eastridge Lancer Football here in Section V," said Green. "In the short time since rejoining the program, I see great potential in our players, and I am eager to help lead them to a path of success. This all begins with the BLEED BLUE philosophy."
Green, a Honeoye Falls-Lima resident, has worked as an art teacher at EICSD for 25 years, and has been coaching football for over 20 years. He served as an assistant coach for many years before taking over as head coach of the Eastridge Varsity Football team from 2006-2015.
During his time coaching the team, Green led the Lancers to a 72-29 record with five league titles and two Sectional titles. He was also named League Coach of the Year five times and Section V Class A Coach of the Year twice.
"We could not be happier to have Coach Green rejoin the Lancer Football Family," said East Irondequoit Athletic Director Kyle Vacanti. "Coach Green is a skilled coach who is committed to continue the hard work and dedication it takes to run a successful program. Coach Green will, without a doubt, motivate, challenge, and inspire our athletes to perform to their highest capabilities. We are confident that the combination of his coaching skills and our athlete’s passion for the sport will translate to an exciting brand of football."
There will be an introductory meeting with Coach Green on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 6:00 p.m in the Eastridge Library. This meeting is open to all 6–11th grade football players and their families. Families that have questions should contact the athletic office or attend the introductory meeting. This meeting is a great opportunity to meet the coach and get the off-season started for all the returning players.
