Congratulations to Trey and Brayden who were awarded the Outstanding Youth Instrumental Musician Award by the Irondequoit Concert Band!

These two exceptional students were chosen by their band teachers for their dedication, growth, and leadership in our music program.

Trey – A determined and passionate trumpet player, Trey has shown incredible perseverance. As his band teacher Mr. David Savine shared, “Trumpet did not come easy to him and he had to make a choice whether to switch instruments, or work extremely hard. Trey decided to work extremely hard.” That decision has paid off—Trey is now a leader in his trumpet section and performed in Solo Fest in the spring. He also takes private lessons to continue improving his craft.

Outside of band, Trey is a well-rounded student involved in Yearbook Club, Intramurals, and multiple sports including football, baseball, and competitive swimming. He’s a huge fan of college and NFL football, especially Notre Dame and the Chicago Bears, and loves diving into football history with his family.

Brayden – A talented 5th grade alto saxophone player at Durand Eastman Intermediate School, Brayden has made a big impact in our music community. Starting on clarinet in 4th grade, he embraced the challenge of switching to alto saxophone in 5th grade and has excelled ever since. His band teacher Ms. Alexa DiRaimo shared, “His drive and commitment to his instrument makes him a fantastic role model for other band members. Brayden is a very valuable member of our music program here in East Irondequoit and he is well deserving of this prestigious award.”

Brayden has participated in NYSSMA Solo Festival and the district-wide Music in Our Schools Month Concert, all while maintaining strong academic achievement across the board.

Please join us in congratulating Trey and Brayden for their hard work, leadership, and musical excellence. We are so proud of you both!
