East Irondequoit CSD is excited to announce that Kevin Morrissey has been appointed as an Assistant Principal at East Irondequoit Middle School by the Board of Education on July 5, 2023. Mr. Morrissey previously worked as an English teacher in the Rochester City School District for 24 years, teaching at the middle school level for 20 of those years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from SUNY Geneseo and a master’s degree and administrative certification from SUNY Brockport. His passion is to work collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a safe environment where children thrive, and parents feel welcome. “My goal is to reinforce our community’s sense of belonging; a place where our children and parents feel their voices are honored, and their needs are met. These relationships are the cornerstone of our practice as educators and ensure academic excellence through the shared understanding of the principles that guide us.” He believes that “dialogue is how we grow our community” and adds “my door is always open.” Morrissey is an Irondequoit resident who is married with three children.
