Katie Jo Passero
The East Irondequoit Central School District is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Katie Jo Passero as the new Principal of Ivan Green Primary School. Dr. Passero brings a wealth of experience, a deep passion for inclusive education, and a strong commitment to student growth and community engagement.

Dr. Passero most recently served as the UPK–6 Assistant Principal at Village Elementary School in the Hilton Central School District. She is dedicated to supporting all learners and fostering environments where every child can thrive.  She is especially passionate about creating classrooms where all students feel safe, valued, and motivated to take risks in their learning.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Adolescent Education and Social Studies from Iona University, a Master of Science in Special Education from Queens College, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from SUNY Brockport, and an Ed.D. in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University.

Dr. Passero’s passion for education is rooted in her belief in the power of learning. “I’ve always been inspired by the idea that a supportive, engaging learning environment can change the trajectory of a child’s life,” she shared. “Teaching is not just about delivering content—it’s about building connections, fostering curiosity, and helping students see their own potential.”

Reflecting on her new role, Dr. Passero said, “I’m thrilled to join EICSD, where a strong sense of community and a commitment to student success are at the heart of everything. I’m excited to collaborate with passionate educators, support the growth of every learner, and contribute to a positive environment where students feel seen, heard, and inspired to reach their full potential.”
