Below are the details of the 2 propositions on the ballot. Residents will also be receiving more information in the mail in the coming weeks about the vote.
Proposition 1: 2023 Transportation Capital Reserve Fund | Proposition 2: Property Purchase |
East Irondequoit CSD is seeking to establish a new Transportation Capital Reserve Fund to plan for future transportation replacement purchases. - The original bus capital reserve fund has reached its fund and year term limit. - The establishment of a new reserve fund has NO ADDITIONAL TAX IMPACT on residents. - The reserve fund will be used to replace buses as required after a district vote is held to authorize the replacement. - Reserve funds are a fiscally responsible way to manage the purchase without placing additional tax burden on residents by creating a savings account to save for anticipated purchases. | East Irondequoit CSD is seeking to purchase an 11.5 acre property located at 160 Densmore Road.
- The purchase has NO TAX INCREASE for residents. - The $375,000 purchase will be paid for from the district fund balance. - Potential future development of this green space, includes 2 multi-sport fields, .75 miles of walking trails and a 94 spot parking lot. - Any future development would first require voter approval. - Fields can be used for district athletics, physical education classes, and town sports leagues. Nature trails can be used for student learning and field trips and by community members. |
