East Irondequoit Central School District is excited to welcome Carly R. Jelsma as the new Director of Student Services. Carly brings a wealth of experience in education, mental health, and student support.
Her career includes nine years with the Rochester City School District in roles such as School Social Worker, Student & Family Support Coordinator, Community School Site Coordinator, and Director of Attendance. She began her professional journey in child welfare services at Hillside and the Catholic Family Center of Rochester. Most recently, she served as Coordinator for Behavioral Support Services and Interim Supervisor of the Mental Health Department at Monroe 2 BOCES.
Carly holds a Master of Science in Education Leadership from St. John Fisher College, a Master of Social Work from Nazareth College & SUNY Brockport, and a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies from SUNY New Paltz. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
“With extensive experience in the Rochester City School District and a strong foundation in mental health, I bring a deep commitment to advancing student success through inclusive, equitable, and supportive services,” she shared. “I’m dedicated to providing every student and their family with the support they need to thrive, using a collaborative leadership approach. I’m incredibly excited to get to work with students, families, staff, and the community!”
