The East Irondequoit Board of Education is proud to announce the appointment of Katrina Davenport to its nine-member board. Davenport was officially sworn in during last night’s board meeting, following an application and interview process that began this summer. The Board invited interested candidates to apply for the vacant seat and conducted interviews. After careful review, the Board selected Davenport, a dedicated parent in the district with a background in finance and community involvement.
During her interview, Davenport shared her priorities include bringing diverse perspectives and ideas to the table, making meaningful contributions based on her experience in PTSA and finance roles, and giving back to the community. “As a parent and community member, I joined the Board of Education to help bridge the gap between families and schools. My goal is to ensure every decision we make helps students feel valued, supported, and prepared for what’s next. I believe in listening to understand, collaborating to find solutions, and creating spaces where every student’s potential is recognized, nurtured, and celebrated.” Davenport said.
Although Davenport has not previously served on a school board, she brings experience from financial roles on other boards, including her local church. The Board looks forward to working with Katrina as she brings her experience, passion, and commitment to serving the East Irondequoit community.
