Reminder - October 6, 2022, all students are dismissed 15 minutes early

Dear Parents/Guardians:

State regulations mandate that all school districts have an annual test of its Early Dismissal Plan where all students must be released from school.   The East Irondequoit Central School District has scheduled its annual test of this Early Dismissal Plan for Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Students will be released at the end of the day, 15 minutes earlier than their normally scheduled time, in order to test the early dismissal response of the District’s Emergency Management Plan.

All staff members in the schools have specific assignments in the event of an emergency and will remain in school until all students have been properly dismissed.

Please make appropriate arrangements for the early arrival of your child(ren) as a result of this drill.  After school day care in our schools provided by the Bay View YMCA will end at the early dismissal time.  This means there will be no after school day care in our buildings on this date.

All middle school and high school away interscholastic activities will continue as scheduled.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us conduct this GO HOME drill.   If you have any questions about early dismissal on October 6th, please feel free to call your building principal.

Sincerely,

Mary E. Grow
Superintendent of Schools
