Today we are recognizing Thierry Ngarambe, member of Eastridge class of 2012. After Covid cut the 2020 basketball season short, Thierry was passionate about finding a way seniors could play one last game, which led to the creation of Rochesters Keepers, LLC.
Since hosting the very first tournament in 2020, Thierry has held multiple events, including the “RK Battle of Upstate NY” at Eastridge in summer of 2022.
He was nominated for not only bringing talented youth together from surrounding areas to enjoy a safe and positive environment, but for his dedication to the love of the game and where he comes from.

Do you know any alumni that deserve to be recognized? Send your nomination to communications@eastiron.monroe.edu.

Each year, the Irondequoit Concert Band recognizes one student from each of the intermediate schools in both the East and West Irondequoit School Districts with the Outstanding Young Instrumental Musician Award (OYIMA). The students are chosen for this award by the music educators at each of the four intermediate schools based on criteria established by the band. At the 2022 Irondequoit Town Hall July 4th concert, the students were invited to join the band on stage to perform a few songs.
Our 2022 winner from Durand-Eastman School was Chloe F. She plays clarinet in the band, as well as singing in the chorus and performing in school musicals. Her teacher, Alexa DiRaimo, told us about her positive attitude and hard work, making her a role model at Durand-Eastman.
At the Laurelton-Pardee School, our 2022 winner was Elsa N. A fifth-grade flutist with the band, Elsa earned a perfect score at her first solo festival last year. Her teacher, David Savine, described her as enthusiastic, kind, and hard-working and says she always knows her music, even working one lesson ahead.
Congratulations to Chloe and Elsa!
