In honor of #MLKDay, the EIMS We Have a Dream Club recently discussed the qualities Martin Luther King, Jr. possessed and the actions he took to impact civil rights for years to come. Students then collaborated on a project where they had the chance to write what their dreams are when it comes to ensuring peace and equality prevails in their own school. The project is displayed at EIMS. Special thanks to the Pencils and Paper Jewish Family Services and our area Wegmans for making the foam boards available for the project. Ahead of #MLKDay, Ms. Menelas and Miss. Kim's 5th grade class at DE completed a project called, "What Would it Look Like if Martin Luther King, Jr. had an Instagram?" Students first took part in a classroom gallery walk through where they analyzed photos of MLK during the civil rights movement, using them as project inspiration in order to accurately capture what he may have posted to his own Instagram if it were possible when he was alive. #WeAreEI What a creative project!
