Durand Eastman 4th and 5th graders have been partnering with their 3rd grade reading buddies all year long! This morning, they celebrated their time together with a special breakfast and a reading buddies celebration. Students were especially touched by the thoughtful thank you cards from their younger buddies. Great job to all our students! 📚📖

Students at Durand Eastman had the exciting opportunity to meet author Vivian Vande Velde, writer of 8 Class Pets + 1 Squirrel ÷ 1 Dog = Chaos, the featured title for this year’s One School, One Book program. They shared their favorite moments from the story and had their copies signed. To celebrate the book even further, the school created a "Pet Wall" showcasing photos of beloved pets belonging to both students and staff. 🐶📚
