DURAND EASTMAN’S 1ST science fair APRIL 16TH 6–7PM COME SEE DE STUDENTS SHARE SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS!
Third grade students at DE took part in a fire safety lesson inside the Irondequoit Fire District’s Fire Safety Trailer. They learned important safety skills such as using extension cords properly, fireplace safety, recognizing smoke, safely checking exits, crawling low during an emergency, and identifying a safe family meeting spot. 🚒🧯

Thank you to the Irondequoit Fire District for helping keep our students safe at home and in our community! 😊

Students at Durand Eastman School put their problem‑solving and coding skills to the test by designing their own LEGO robot obstacle courses. After creating the courses, students programmed their robots to navigate each challenge from start to finish. Teams earned points for creativity, presentation, and successful completion of the course, showcasing impressive collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation. A great example of hands‑on learning in action! #LancersLEAD

Our DE clarinet students had a great session with Beth Fabrizio, retired band director, freelance clarinetist, and adjudicator. She taught students about their instrument, proper maintenance and care, and helped them improve technique and form. We’re grateful for her time and expertise! 🎶✨

A special connection made the day even more meaningful — Beth was Ms. DiRaimo’s own teacher growing up and she also worked in her classroom during her student‑teaching days. 🩵🎼
