
DE students had a fun filled Read Around the World Day! Students learned all about different countries through book tastings, trivia, read-alouds, crafts, sing-alongs, themed classrooms and more! A big thank you to DE PTA for providing free books for all students!

Alexa DiRaimo's 5th grade band students at DE were joined by a guest conductor today. Nancy Russo is a retired Band Director from Hilton HS and she is currently an Adjunct Professor of Music Education at Nazareth University. Thanks for visiting and sharing your expertise!

DE students got to participate in an assembly where they watched an eclipse simulation and learned facts about the eclipse from their peers. They worked on different eclipse related activities in their classes as well!

🎵Music in Our Schools Month ended on a high note 🎵! The Music in Our Schools Month Concert was spectacular, featuring ensembles from all the schools. The concert closed with the LP and DE 5th grade and Eastridge bands performing the world debut of 'Iron Gate Overture' composed specifically for our district by composer Tom Davis. It was a busy day at DE! First thing this morning we had the Irondequoit Rotary come and donate dictionaries to all of our third graders. Later in the afternoon high school AVID students came to speak to a group of 4th graders on how to be successful students! #ThisIsDE



For Agricultural Literacy Week, Monroe County 4-H educators visited 3rd graders at DE where they read "I Love Strawberries" and participated in agriculture-related activities. Students also got to hear from guest readers County Executive Adam Bello & County Legislator Dave Long!

Student speakers began by sharing background about why we celebrate and our guest speaker led a demonstration that showed students how much easier it is to achieve your goals when you are surrounded by a supportive, all-inclusive community. #LancePride

Galileo's birthday is today! In honor, Mrs. Duquette, Mrs. Bryce, Mrs. Beaton and Mrs. Cooman's classes have written about Galileo and his many discoveries to share with other classrooms around the building.
